Doctor or heat lampfrom the former GDR

The lamp and the lampshade still have a few scratches and numerous dents, but that doesn't detract from the charm of this EGB heat lamp!

Work steps

It was converted to the E27 socket, we used a chrome-plated metal socket for this. In addition, we renewed the entire wiring. We used braided textile cable for this. Furthermore, we provided the plug and the socket with contemporary parts. The switch, for example, comes from the 50s / 60s! With the electrics, we have carried out the grounding to the metal housing, which is unusual for lamps. Also, we cleaned all parts completely and polished by hand and machine, which took hours. We kept the original screws, which are also polished. The lamp base has also been weighted down again. The EGB lamp previously weighed 600 g, now it weighs 3.5 kg. Thus, it stands firmly on its ground and an unsafe stand is impossible.

A modernized antiquewith charm

We sanded the rod that connects the base and lampshade matt with 800 grit sandpaper as a contrast to the reflective parts. We have consciously received these contemporary witnesses, because it is a modernized antique and should not lose its soul! Finally, we used a modern OSRAM LED filament lamp, which is also included in the scope of delivery!
