Cabinets

The first workbegins

Unfortunately, the cabinet has numerous damages at the beginning. The door falls inwards and there are plenty of water stains. Furthermore, the workmanship is very poor overall. In addition, the board is still missing inside. So it can only get better! From a very fine pine stick, we carved an even finer stick with a pocket knife to make up for the large gap.

Small starting difficultiesdue to a broken drawer

At first, the work started quite well. But then the drawer broke apart.

The rough sanding and dismantling are finally done. Then the small repairs should follow.

Changing our original plan

We will actually be using the old fittings again. You can see in the pictures why we decided to do this. As the fittings are simply too good to dispose of in the garbage. After our processing, you could then clearly see the difference. A really nice result!

Work-up

Now we have to work up the rose. We started with the first part, the sanding.

Further treatmentof the surfaces

We glue the bridge of the tea cupboard and sanded with isinglass. We also treat the other areas in the same way.

Differencesare clearly visible

Here you can see the difference before and after the treatment.

Inner door hingeis built

We are now starting to build the inner door hinge. He always “jumped into the closet”. To prevent this from happening again, we built a stop block out of a piece of wood from a New Year's rocket. Grandma's iron was used as a measure to determine the correct position. Now we also set the door correctly. Gluing follows at the end.

Our workhas paid off again

As you can see from the picture!
