Beautiful Heco corner loudspeakerfrom the 50s

Speaker

A real collector's item

Unfortunately, we initially received it in this poor condition. In addition, the heavy soiling cannot be overlooked. Therefore, a revision was inevitable.

Work steps

We have completely gutted the Heco loudspeaker and thus completely restored it. For this purpose we have prepared the wood of our Heco loudspeaker with Schleierfrei from Herrmann Sachse. We also used domestic sheep's wool as insulation. This improves the sound enormously! We also used natural beeswax with peanut oil to preserve the wood. The loudspeaker was also covered with a new fabric. However, this is based on the original.

Technical details

The old Heco corner loudspeaker was transformed into a multiroom WiFi loudspeaker with its own software. It is therefore an Airplay speaker based on technology from Max2Play and Raspberry Pi Zero with HiFiBerry sound card.

• Internet radio, controllable via app on Android, iPhone (iPad) or a normal browser with a PC, Apple, tablet
• The playback of music tracks via USB sticks would be possible, but you would have to unscrew the speaker.

In our Heco loudspeakers, instead of the mono equipment, two loudspeakers from a modern LCD TV are now installed. A 3 m long USB retro cable provides the power supply.
