Blaupunkt
radio

4GW56

08.08.2020

This is a special radiofor vintage fans

with a weakness for strong bass and good sound! The radio is an absolute must-have for fans of extraordinary optics! The volume is quite respectable and can be heard! It works best with trance and techno! The Blaupunkt radio 4GW56 was built in 1936, at the beginning of the Second World War. This model has had a few processing stages behind it! The conversion of the radio has already challenged us, but we have accepted this challenge.

Work steps

Contrary to our usual approach, we wanted to keep the patina completely. That's why we only puttied the veneer, sanded it lightly and then sealed it with shellac. To do this, we printed, sanded and polished the PLA display holder. We attached brass screws to fix the holder. We also restored the radio and refurbished it by using purely natural materials.

Furthermore, we used the following materials:
• Wood putty
• Shellac
• PLA for the display holder (PLA is plastic made of lactic acid and therefore completely biodegradable)

The speaker systemCreative I-Trigue 3330

has so much bass with the ITT LP/175/19/120F speaker that the screen distorted during trance or techno. Therefore, we need a remedy: sheep wool from "Tierpark Arche Wader".

Touchscreen3.2 inch

We equipped this radio with the 3.2 inch (approx. 8 cm) touchscreen shown here. The playing track is always visible. This allows you to quickly change channels or listen to your own music, for example.

More impressionsand dimensions

The Max2Play multiroom system also comes from Germany, just like the basic substance used. Accordingly, it is in our opinion the best that is currently available on the market. However, you need a Max2Play license for the full range of functions!

Dimensions:
• 33 cm high
• 47.5 cm wide
• 29 cm deep
