Innovation since 1899A legend has reborn!

About us

The trademark rightswere granted to us on June, 30th, 2020

Neufeldt & Kuhnke was founded in 1899. The company was later renamed. However, the brand is still very popular with collectors and connoisseurs. And so it is now called: Neufeldt & Kuhnke - innovation since 1899. MoRobo was founded as a pure technology company specializing in IT and robotics. At the end of 2018, it became apparent that these fields of work would be expanded in the future. Because we also focused our attention on the areas of upcycling and vintage. Afterwards, it quickly became clear to us that the registered trademark MoRobo no longer fits.

And why this brand?

Since 2019 we have been thinking about a brand that can tangibly represent the ambitions in the fields of vintage and sustainable production. We quickly understood that only an old and well-known brand with a good history can really do this job. A long search began through all possible brand directories. Regina Baltschun always enjoyed devices from the old company Neufeldt & Kuhnke from Kiel, because they were so incredibly innovative at the time. We had been looking for the wrong place and the wrong brands for a long time. At some point, we picked up old headphones with the N&K logo and asked ourselves: "Who does the brand belong to today?"

The entry and the coffee cup

When registering a trademark, you should first conduct a search to see whether it has already been assigned elsewhere. It takes place at the “Office of the European Union for Intellectual Property” or EUIPO for short. We're a big fan of eSearch. There, you can also check very well whether your own company logo has been protected by someone else. A problem that can be very uncomfortable and expensive. Then the surprise followed! Nobody had ever thought of this venerable old brand. There wasn't even an invalid or expired registration.

With a minimum of €850, the European trademark application costs significantly more than a national application. An international application is also conceivable, but it is in fact impossible for a very small company to monitor trademark rights across the Atlantic. Therefore, we decided to register for the EU. After we did this step, and they accepted our application electronically, we ordered a coffee mug with the imprint: Neufeldt & Kuhnke - Innovation since 1899.

We were then granted the trademark rights on June 30, 2020. Now we can start to bring this beautiful old brand back to life!
